This project is one of the most engaging projects we’ve ever had the pleasure to undertake. Not only were the owners, Julie and Lee Carter constantly in contact with us, they were using the Tarheel Cloud as it was intended to be used to it’s fullest extent. This had breathtaking results, not just in aesthetics of their new website, but the sheer time in which we were able to deliver a product – less than 48 days!

This project will go down in our portfolio as a prime example of what can be accomplished when a web developer and their clients work together – as a team!

Fork Township

Fork Township, the local government over Rosewood, was an inherited client. A year before they came to us, their original web designer in the area had passed away and his son was trying to lighten his workload and began referring clients to us and we suspect it was the oldest of the websites that had security issues that had “grown” into the installs from years of core updates and no plugin/theme updates. But that’s okay! We enjoy the challenge!

For Fork Township, we’ve not only updated their website to the current versions of WordPress since, we’ve also scraped and clawed through the code to get it compatible with PHP 8.1. Additionally, as they have needs for features for their website, Tarheel Media delivers.

One feature, in particular, was a table application that allows the administrators to simply add regulatory data about water tests and have it automatically displayed in a consumer confidence report drastically reducing their workload and getting the citizens of Rosewood the information they need to make informed decisions.

Like Los Magueyes Mexican Restaurant, Los Tres Magueyes came to us needing a similar solution of ordering during COVID-19, a system that allowed for contactless ordering while not inside of the store and we delivered a system that allows customers to pre-order their foods and pick up at a later time/date or have it picked up as soon as possible.

Hector came to us during the start of the COVID-19 State of Emergency after realizing that Door Dash and other delivery services were cutting too far into his profits for simple order pickups. He came to us for a very cost-effective plan to get orders from his customers by cutting out the middlemen. His company now allows for online ordering right from their website with interactive and real-time order acceptance and declining with intelligent order tracking to shut off the order process when it’s too busy.

Best Sand & Gravel, Inc.

Best Sand and Gravel was a place I passed more than twice per week and yet had no idea what it was. The company was using the Yellow Pages for a website and SEO and it simply wasn’t working for them. We set them up with a website that was built to last with features galore that the Operations Director figured out on his own over the course of a few months. Once he figured out how to embed his drone videos in the background of sliders, he was in love.

We have been with Best Sand and Gravel every step of the way and maybe producing a new website soon as well – a next-gen website far more impressive than the current.

Like so many of our clients, Best Sand and Gravel has a really interesting story about competition. Their competitors attempted to hire us a few months after they subscribed to our services and hired us to build a website for them. This competitor paid, we later found was trying to extract information about our SEO practices because a few months later, they had a new website and was copying the meta from our client. For a while, they remained just under our client and eventually overtook them by creating several Google Maps profiles.

Google caught on and suppressed their search results for a while elevating Best Sand and Gravel back to the top of the search results.

Today, Best Sand and Gravel remains dominant on anything sand, gravel, or aggregate-related and we’re constantly working with the company to improve and push the source of leads further out of Goldsboro, North Carolina.
